Create an Election
Elections in Election Worker Portal are created through an integration with Voter Focus. Before an election appears in Election Worker Portal, the prerequisites below must be met.
- The election must be created in Voter Focus > Elections tab > Maintain Election Settings
- All Early Voting, election day, and election center locations must be created in Voter Focus > Place Maintenance
- Precinct poll work for Election Day work
- Early Voting work locations for Early Voting work
- Election Center work locations for Area Reps

The Assign Ballot Styles to Precincts program in Voter Focus must be opened at least once (Voter Focus > Elections tab > Maintain Election Settings > Ballot Styles tab > Assign Ballot Styles to Precincts).

VRScheduler must be running.
See Daily Data Transfer and Maintenance Check to view the schedule at which data is transferred from Voter Focus to EWP.
- In Voter Focus, go to the Elections tab and click Maintain Election Settings.
- Click New. Complete at least the following fields:
- Election Name
- Election Dates
- Election Type
- Election Classification
- Early Voting Dates
- Click Save.

- On the Elections tab, find the row for your election and click Copy. A warning dialog will appear, if you are sure you are ready to proceed click Yes.
- The Find Election dialog appears. Locate the election in the list and click Select.
- The Copy Election page appears. Complete the fields, as required.
- Click Next.
- The Election Shifts page appears. Complete the fields, as required.
- Click Save.
